Oh no doubt! The single most important book on magic to be published in about a half a century, I'd say. Even if it's not about magic.

Now, how I'm going to afford it.

I read the piece about its genesis and translation in the New York Times the other day. Looks like a tidal wave is going to hit everything Jungian -- from therapy to criticism -- and it'll be years until it settles down again.

Materialist scientists will want to discredit it; fundy Christians will want to ban and burn it; academics will fervently argue about who really understands it (and of course none of them will; nothing personal Patrick); Hollywood will try to figure our how to make a buck from it (starring Philip Seymour Hoffman as Jung); Obama won't admit he's reading it... and it should be lots of fun.

Its keeping me up at night, trying to figure out how to come up with the cash to get this. If ever there was a time for a money spell, now is it!

I've had a wee obsession with Jung since I was a child, and this is HUGE. I near fainted when I heard this book was coming out.

(PSH as Jung?! Aiieee. Gods, say no! He can be a great actor, but I don't see the glint -- mischievous? Wisened? Trickster? -- in his eye that Jung carried...)
