Jason: thanks for posting this. I have forwarded this link to several groups. While many have used the Haiti quake as an excuse to engage in Christian-bashing, I think it's important to remember that while there has been a great deal of evil done in the name of Christ, there has also been a great deal of good.

This video annoyed me. I'm sure Father Matthew is a decent fellow, but he took the too-easy route of condemning Pat Robertson by portraying his words as an unfair national indictment. They were partly that, but the real issue is that Robertson considers Haitian spiritual practices to be absolutely evil. That's especially disturbing in light of Christanity's often violent oppression of other faiths. If Father Matthew had attacked Robertson for unfairly demonizing Voodoo, that would have have been genuinely praiseworthy. What he said in the video sounded nice but avoided the real issue and was basically weak.
