Beats the shit out of a kitchen timer bell, or spending 99 bucks on a digital meditation timer.

Unfortunately, a couple of months ago I already spent $99 on... yes, a digital meditation bell (the "Zen Timepiece")... after getting fed up with my $1.99 kitchen timer, which goes DEET DEET DEET DEET like a wrathful cybernetic cricket coming to chew up my ego.
Maybe to the Buddha it would all be the same. But I figure there are reasons why monasteries use those beautiful old bells cast from seven metals, rather than just have someone bang two saucepan lids together.
